The Republican-led U.S. House has blocked rules that would redefine school lunch criteria that would reduce childhood obesity by adding more fruits and vegetables to school lunch programs.
Since the change was rejected, pizza will still be considered a vegetable as far as school lunches are concerned.
It's a win for big food companies and a loss for our children, who deserve healthier alternatives.
Tell Republican lawmakers that you don't agree with this block, that pizza is not a vegetable, and that it's time to get serious about childhood obesity.
